The Two Things We Should Never Talk About…
Tuesdays 7 pm to 9 pm at the Klein’s home.
Politics & Religion – Current events through a Biblical worldview.

Details

You’ve heard that these are the two subjects that you should never talk about, but as Christians we are called to be “ambassadors for Christ” (2 Corinthians 5:20). If we are to effectively perform that high political office, shouldn’t we know about the things which are impacting that world to which we are sent?

Our plan is to come together on a weekly basis as a small group. We will be viewing current events through a biblical lens so that we may be more effective Christians making the most of our ministry. We will discuss, research and pray about current news items. Each participant will be encouraged to bring a news item which he/she believes is of particular interest or concern. We will discuss that item and the proper Christian response based on biblical directives.

We will meet at the Klein’s house on Tuesdays from 7-9pm. Our first meeting will be August 11. Families with children are welcome however no childcare will be provided.

Please let us know if you are interested in joining us.

Tactics
In a world increasingly indifferent to Christian truth, followers of Christ need to be equipped to communicate with those who do not speak their language or accept their source of authority.

In the Tactics Study , apologist and radio host Gregory Koukl demonstrates how to get in the driver’s seat in discussions about faith, keeping any conversation moving with thoughtful, artful tact. Readers will learn how to maneuver comfortably and graciously through potential minefields, stop challengers in their tracks, turn the tables, and—most importantly—get people thinking about Jesus with conversations that look more like diplomacy than D-Day.

Drawing on extensive experience defending Christianity in the public square, Koukl demonstrates how to:

  • Initiate conversations effortlessly
  • Present the truth clearly, cleverly, and persuasively
  • Graciously and effectively expose faulty thinking
  • Skillfully manage the details of dialogue
  • Maintain an engaging, disarming style even under attack

The Tactics Study provides a game plan for communicating the compelling truth about Christianity with confidence and grace.
