Did you ever have to do something that caused you to have fear or anxiety…and you would be doing it alone? Perhaps traveling on streets you have never been on before.
I am not comfortable driving downtown by myself, but when my husband was at the Cleveland Clinic Hospital in the city I had to drive there by myself, park in the enclosed parking garage and walk to the building where he was staying. Already nervous about visiting him because he was quite ill, I did this for weeks.
My pastor helped me by giving me a scripture that I carried in my purse; I memorized it and spoke it out loud while I drove.
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.
If you have something you must do that causes you to be fearful or nervous, I encourage you to choose a scripture that reminds you of the Lord’s strength and care for you. Write it down and commit it to memory. His Word is an ever present help in time of need.
Lord, I thank You for walking with me, comforting me and giving me the strength I so needed at this difficult time. Thank You for Your Word. Knowing You are always by my side and holding me when I am weak gives me strength to do things I thought I could never do. Amen
